I recently read a book that came out early last year called What Happened to You? It’s written by Dr. Bruce Perry and Oprah Winfrey. Dr. Bruce Perry is a child psychiatrist and neuroscientist –he studies the brain. He is one of the world’s leading experts on brain development and childhood trauma and founded The Neurosequential Network in Houston, Texas. Oprah Winfrey is a trauma survivor herself and has dedicated her career to talking about abuse, neglect and helping people heal.
After reading What Happened to You?, I reached out to Dr. Bruce Perry’s organization, The Neurosequential Network in Houston, Texas to ask about having someone from their organization come on my show to talk about a child’s brain development and the impact of developmental childhood trauma.
Today I am talking with Diane Vines with The Neurosequential Network. Diane serves as the NMT Director for the Neurosequential Network. In her role, she provides both clinical and program-related development, administration and support for the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics Individual and Site Certification programs. Diane is also a long-time ChildTrauma Academy Fellow and a clinician in private practice. She received her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Houston - Clear Lake in 1999. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-Supervisor and a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor in the state of Texas and is also a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor.
Listen to learn more about a child's developing brain and the impact of developmental trauma. Today is Part 2 - a continuation of my conversation with Diane Vines.Support the show (https://www.paypal.com/biz/fund?id=TV3MC58KBYEML)
